Skull Coast Sails into Raleigh, NC to meet with Congressman Miller

Alexa Long (far right) & Mark Olson (towering over everyone) listen to Congressman Brad Miller (middle) address NC Brewers. On Thursday, January 12, 2012, Skull Coast Brewing was invited by Win Bassett and NCBrewing.org to meet with Congressman Brad Miller to discuss the Small BREW Act and its effect on North Carolina's craft brew industry.

While Dave Fox was unable to attend, Mark Olson and Alexa Long proudly carried the Skull Coast flag. In addition to Skull Coast, there were about 10 Raleigh-area brewery owners, who took time out of their busy day to stress the importance of this piece of legislation currently working its way through Congress.

For a complete write-up on the event, please go here.

The following pictures are from the NCBrewing.org website, where you can see addition pictures at the link above.

Mark Olson (left) and Win Bassett (center) wait anxiously for a question Alexa Long (right) wanted to follow up on from the Congressman's talk that she wrote down in her notes.

Mark Olson gets some "face time" with the Congressman and his staff regarding our move into North Carolina.

This is by far my favorite image from the event. Alexa is decimating Mark in beer drinking. Alexa later told me that she and Mark ordered their beers at the same time, and that "Mark should have worn a skirt to the event." In Mark's defense, he did have to drive all the way back to Charlotte that night. So, for that, he gets a pass.
